The city fell to Sherman, for months the north lay siege
The Yankee’s had a masterplan, and made us all to leave

A life unremarkable
All her 86 years
Not her choice to be only
No children, no man
Her days seem to end
Much as they begen
with no expectations
She dreams…..
She still dreams
Another day gone
As summer to fall
Winter can’t promise
Her spring 
A sadness so strong

She questions it all…..
